This project delves into the intersection of discarded electronic components and modern urban culture, focusing on how this intersection finds its most vivid expression in China's electronic but also a profound reflection on urbanization, industrialization, and cultural amalgamation.
I created a series of installations combining discarded electronic components with photographic documentation of Huaqiangbei to narrate its story. "Electronic Utopia" redefines our perception of urban landscapes and the electronic industry through the reuse of waste. This project serves as both a contemplation of technology, industry, and culture and an exploration of urbanization. While appreciating these artworks, the audience is invited to embark on a thoughtful journey regarding the reuse of electronic waste and the development of urbanization.

Inspired by the population flow heatmap of Huaqiangbei, this piece takes the form of a nest, illustrating the vast scale of Huaqiangbei as the epicenter of the electronic industry, where countless laborers reside.
Each piece of discarded electronic component contributes to this colossal "Urban Nest," forming a precise and coordinated structure symbolizing Huaqiangbei's strict division of labor and the trend of industrialization.
Through this visual metaphor, viewers are prompted to contemplate how the electronic industry shapes the urban development of Shenzhen, reflecting the density and interdependence of modern society.
